No. Every Escape kayak tour is private for your group only. We don’t combine separate bookings or add other participants to reach the minimum. If your group is under 4 people, you’re welcome to invite friends, family, or colleagues to join you, and book the tour at the $450 flat rate.

It is possible to fall in the water when kayaking, but if you take a tour with us, you will receive an orientation and travel with a guide to you get everything you need to have fun and stay dry!

Summer (July – September) is the best time of year because: 

Water Levels: Moderate to low, depending on dam releases, creating generally calmer conditions
Temperature: Still refreshing but warmer than spring, making for comfortable paddling and splashing
Safety: Best time for recreational Ottawa River Kayaking; just keep an eye out for boat traffic and occasional strong currents near the rapids

The Best Time of Day to Kayak For a calmer kayaking experience on the Ottawa River, join us for a morning or early afternoon paddle. By mid-afternoon (approx 2 pm-5 pm), there are larger boats and jetskis on the river that create big waves, making a kayak journey more challenging.
